Business-to-business networking and promotion will be the
focus of a new internet portal in Canada that is designed
to cater to the fashion industry. The portal, Minimidimaxi
- The Canadian Fashion Stage, http://minimidimaxi.com ,
was launched after a test site was used to guage the industry
response for one year.
That
site won over hundreds of members, leading to the formation
of the new site that showcases all parts of the industry
including designers, retailers, manufacturers, fashion media,
exporters, models and stylists.
COO Anita Wypych said the goal was to fill a void in the
industry. "My partner Marek Wlazlo and I believe this country
has the makings of a global fashion powerhouse," she said.
"However, fragmentation and the lack of confidence and promotion
have held our industry back. We're out to change that; to
put Canada squrely where it belongs - at the centre of the
world fashion scene."
Services
on the site include database listings, news distribution,
B2B networking, custom search engines and industry news.
