FLUIDO SPRING/SUMMER 2002
Mimmo
Baronello dedicates his Spring~Summer 2002 Fluido collection to people
living with breast cancer, teaming up with Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation
to raise awareness. Baronello's active support of women's and children's
charities, reflects the designer's gentle and caring nature, as does
his collection.
The collection preview opened with a recitation of a Franco Battiato
poem by Valerie Buhagiar, a Canadian actress best known for her role
in Highway 61. Fluido's spring/summer 2002 collection projects a warm
feeling, with natural linens fashioned in an earthy pallette of browns
and greens. An effervescent white draping camisole with top-fastening
is paired with a taupe skirt defined by a sprawling, hand-painted garden
motif.
The raw silk evening dresses in black, hot orange, and magenta come
with a matching sash, and give an architectural spine to the luxurious
fabric.
