The New
Labels show opened with the twisted teddy bear fantasies of The Waiter
and the Slut by Mila Finkelshtein, indicating
that manufacturers may now need to attach adult content warnings onto
plaid skirts.
Kity by
Caroline Lim shows that sophistication
is sexy with its peaches and cream daintiness, and the navel-exposing
cropped tops rival the lattice-embroidered skirts for hottest look.
There's
a new kid on the block that everyone wants to talk to (or about). The
irreverent meanderings of wine-tangerine paisley chiffon are the tamest
elements in Rosa Costanzo's brilliant debut.
Some faded pinstripe denim and a couple of straps to complete the punchy
attitude and voila, a collection as edgy as any is born.
There was
another unsung contender for new label of the year. Stylist Alissa
Krost's superb leather dickies were arguably the highlight
of the evening, stealing thunder from Ranjit Chopra's
charcoal wool and black silk meditations.
