Sportswear
Fall/winter 2003
There are
good reasons why Eric Wazana's Second was
rated one of the most promising new denim labels by Sportswear International
in April 2002. Let's just assume that they have mastered the classic
flared low-rise hip huggers and move on to the details. Check out the
nifty side snaps before they hit the streets of your city. Navy doesn't
cut the mustard in today's denim world—grass stain green is the colour
Second brandishes to make new converts. There are some thick knit tops
in red and crème caramel to go with these bottoms, but the economy of
the diagonal mini sweater speaks much louder.
Someone must have poured pink milk into Fidel's
cornflakes this season. Pink, purple and lilac pastels paint the label's
Fall 2003 ready-to-wear collection, composed mainly of delicate separates
with floral prints. The first clue that this is not another one of their
club wear extravaganzas is the Mary Quant coat smock.
