Ol Grandeur
is a fashion house intent on bringing European flair to the Canadian runway,
catering to the contemporary businesswoman. The black eveningwear is the
high point of the collection, marrying satin with sharp, angular cuts.
One such dinner jacket with asymmetric, swirly neck detail is as elegant
and immaculately tailored as the white full-length jacquard dress jacket.
Ol Grandeur scores big with prints and stripes. The black and white georgette
dresses have a playful edge to offset the inherent seriousness of the
collection, while the striped pieces take abstraction to a new level.
The square-necked suit jackets with puffy sleeves did not resonate as
clearly, and perhaps they introduced an unnecessarily antiquated element.
