Danier Leather
spring/summer 2006
Danier brought their spring-summer
2006 leather finery to an eager outdoor audience at Montreal's Jaguar
Fashion and Design Festival.
Leather can be light, as
Danier demonstrates with the women's zip-up jacket in peacock blue (a
colour that was splashed all over the runways this season). Most of
these snappy jackets have straight, typically male cuts. Not even the
racing stripes, however, can detract from their inherent femininity.
Flaunting the softer side of leather, a dusty pink suede jacket with
flared sleeves is paired with a matching skirt. The suede lilac dress
has gentle pleats that fall just above the knee. Frilly skirts contrast
sprightly with the streamlining, and flashes of orange, yellow and green
kick pastel butt.
The men's leather
blazer has a rough cowboy finish, while the white snap-collar jacket
has shoulder patches that make for a decidedly biker look. For both
men and women, there's sleek and sinister black in a variety of separates.
