Falbala
spring/summer 2006
A name is quickly
emerging as the marquee brand for simple dresses with pop panache-Falbala.
The label's new collection gives clear-cut, sultry options for spring-summer
2006.
Using monochromes
such as turquoise, emerald and orange on their hot-button dresses allows
Falbala to call attention to how the gathered jersey is manipulated,
a detail that might have gotten lost under busier palettes. The stark
white double-breasted dress is structured enough to be a trench coat
and ultimately defies category. Delicate floral prints use contrast
to give life to the draping chiffon creations.
For those who want
to incorporate the understated Falbala flair into their already complete
wardrobes, there are separates to mix and match. The baby blue skirt
does sparingly what the jacquard mini-jacket does gaudily-provide good
fit with just enough feminine detail.
