Rudsak
spring/summer 2006
Rudsak gets back to basics
with their spring-summer 2006 leather collection, using ice cream pastels
that make you want to reach out and taste them.
One scoop: Cotton-candy pink
and blueberry are the colours that make the fitted women's jackets delectable,
even if they are a little cluttered with detail. The double zipper and
blossoming collar are tasty innovations, but do we need these two-tone
patches everywhere to break up the landscape? The bizarre Montreal Fashion
Week show, which included titillating razor blade necklaces, did not
let us forget that Rudsak also has a hundred different bags for sale.
Two scoops: The no-nonsense
jackets for men come in peach and cappuccino. The silhouettes, to their
credit, can maintain a quiet masculinity within the melting pastels.
Rudsak hints at the aviator by using buckles in heavenly chocolate fudge.
Three scoops, pretty
please: Banana yellow has never been yummier than in the double-breasted
leather jacket for women with silver zipper features. Not a drop of
lemon sorbet is wasted on the ladies' military cargo jacket.
